Four years building and running high traffic platforms: a travel booking system, a group of news sites, e-commerce. I work where performance, data modelling and the integrations between systems meet, and I led the team running a booking platform in production. I also contribute upstream, from WordPress core to a CRM in TypeScript and a Kubernetes CLI in Go.

  1. Jul 2024 to present

    Senior Software Engineer

    • Contributed to rebuilding a travel booking platform off Drupal.
    • Led delivery of the project, coordinating engineers and code reviews while owning pricing, business logic and architecture decisions.
    • Designed a domain model spanning six interlinked entity types, with normalised tables, indexes for high traffic retrieval, and cache invalidation across the entity graph.
    • Reduced search time to first byte from over 2s to under 600ms.

  2. Jul 2022 to Jun 2024

    Software Engineer

    • Migrated an automotive company's sites from Adobe Experience Manager and built reusable theme and component layers for multiple page templates.
    • Built a decoupled adoption and e-commerce platform with a React frontend, GraphQL API and location based matching.

  3. Jan 2022 to Jun 2022

    Software Engineer Intern

    • Built features for an internal NestJS and Next.js server management tool that provisioned site environments across connected servers, including domain aliases, Nginx and PHP debugging configuration, logs and browser based command execution.
